Hair Straightening
First thing is choosing the right size of flat iron…..they are not one size fits all! For shorter hair use an iron with narrow plates (1/2 to 1 inch thick). For longer hair use an iron with wider plates ( 1 1/2 to 2 inches thick). Next make sure you have it set at the correct heat setting…for fine or damaged hair- 250 to 300 degrees, medium or average hair- 300 to 350 degrees, thick or coarse hair- 350-400 degrees. When straightening, separate hair into smaller sections (how many will depend on the thickness and length) and straighten 1/2 to 2 inch sections of hair at a time. Move at a steady pace down the hair to avoid one part getting too hot. When finished, mist with a shine spray! Amazing tips from Total Beauty.
Hope these tips help you as much as they have helped me!
