This stays really well and doesn’t look cakey at all. I am really sensitive about looking “over made-up” so I am very careful about which powders/foundations I use. Highly recommended.
Yes makeup to the gym. I don’t do cardio, and I change after and don’t want to do make up twice. Also hit 35, and it’s makeup to just keep from scaring my kids lol.
I’ve found that Maybelline eyeliner stays better than the Revlon. When Revlon used to make their Sweat proof make up it was amazing- I don’t know why they ever discontinued it.
First of all, i have my best workouts when i look and feel good about myself so if i want to wear a full face of makeup to the gym, who are you to judge. as you said “you are there to workout” not judge people.
What I don’t get is her wacko comment about impressing the personal trainer with makeup. I work with personal trainers everyday and the consensus, around the board, is that makeup is odd and simply out of place in the gym. To many girls think the guys stare them down cause their faces are all dolled up so they must “look good”, trust me you’re wasting your efforts. You DO NOT want to hear what the guys have to say about “those girls too insecure to wear their “real” face” and “are probably the type of girls who easily put out for some of that male attention”. true story, that was actually said by a group of men discussing some of the girls “strip club” kind of makeup(yes there are those types who give wearing makeup to the gym a bad rep)
Let me share a little insiders secret: men EXPECT that you will wear makeup (not that they care for it) in the evenings when going out, special occasions, and some make up at work. NOT while going to the super market and def not when you are at the gym or playing sports. STOP wearing makeup for MEN and to hide your INSeCURITIES. wear it appropriately to enhance not as a mask. I feel so sorry for girls and even older women who feel like you aren’t good enough the way you are. You ever ask, why is that hot guy with that ugly girl before??, Because shes NOT ugly, she’s not the one who is douseing her face with makeup, to get his attention, and hoping he won’t discover the “ugly”. She got him by being real and natural and allowing him to see her for what she is. That is the purest trick, having true confidence in your own skin and owning it, not hiding it.
I wish this girl would have had a better blog so I didn’t have to get all soap boxy with you all. But seriously, its about time for woman, of all ages, to wake up and realize what’s really important mmmk?
If I look “pretty” at the gym I’m not working hard enough and if I’m going to impress my trainer it’s going to be by kicking his butt lol. But since I live in the deep south I still appreciate the tips. In the summer I can’t even get my makeup on without feeling like I’m already sweating it off some days.
I too, wear makeup to the gym. If you feel like you look good, then it makes all the difference! It really makes me want to work out more….and I go to the gym in the middle of the night, so I am obviously trying not to look cute for anyone. It’s definitely a confidence thing. I don’t think it will clog up your pores any more than sweating in the sun all day. Just make sure to wash your face nightly!

I absolutely wear make up to the gym! Love these tips, and Portland is always wet and humid so this post is perfect! Thanks for the advice!

Great way to clog pores at the gym. You’re there to workout! You’re not there to be cute. Lol

Wearing makeup to the gym is just plain ridiculous! You are there to work out, not to be a runway model. Who are you trying to impress any way?

if you’re cute at the gym, you aren’t working hard enough. Also, “in tacked”? I’m assuming you mean “intact”

This list is missing RAE Cosmetics climate control mineral tint. There’s nothing else like it.
