5 No-Nos of Applying Foundation

4. Not Using a Foundation Brush

People.  This was THE HARDEST thing for me to switch over to.  But only until I gave it a chance.  Now, I absolutely love it and would never apply foundation another way.  Here is why you should all be applying foundation with a foundation brush and not your middle finger.  The oils, and bacteria on your hands alone, will cause breakouts and blemishes.  Aside from that, the brush works the foundation into your skin and pores, so that the makeup is not creating a superficial foundation mask on top of your skin.  I suggest using a short hair, blunt, dense brush and massaging the foundation into your skin in a circular motion.

I disagree with the concealer and foundation part. The majority of professional makeup artists and all the women I know always use foundation and concealer. You just have to use the right techniques to make it not look cakey.

I couldnt agree with you more. Concealer is used pretty much all over even.to critique your brows. Foundation definitely sets your makeup. Without some type of concealer you would have different color tones on your face.

I agree. I have never heard of anyone suggesting to do either-or when it comes to foundation and concealer. It makes no sense. Its about the application and amount of each product you put on. You can use foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlighter, blush and still look natural.

    Woah now. The powder thing…WRONG!!
Powder will overall change the apperacne of your skin after using a liquid foundation. Liquid alone leaves lines and dscolouring. Powder is the key to beauty for your skin. If it fades off then all you have to do is keep it in your purse and apply it every 5 hours or so, even if you don’t it’s better than no powder. Also it gets rid of shine.

I use mineral foundation that is powdered, and all you need is a good setting spray and it doesn’t fall off!

Also, your skin absorbs liquid foundation, so all of those ingredients that are toxic are absorbed into your body.

Exactly. I use powdered foundation, set it with spray, and I don’t have to reapply it during the day. I have super oily skin, but it never shines through. So I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing hahah
