How to Make Your Own DIY Translucent Powder

March 5, 2013 by Haley 2 Comments

How to:

Grab a small mixing bowl and pour in 1 part corn starch, and 1 part green clay, so about half of each jar. Mix them well and add a touch of baking cocoa. What the baking cocoa does is helps add a little tint to the powder, so add accordingly to your skin tone. What I do, is mix in the tiniest bit, and put a touch on the tops of my hands and if it’s still to light, add a little more and continue doing so until it is matched. Mix them together making sure there are no clumps and bumps! Then you want to wash out the spice jar very well, and make sure it is completely dry!!! Once it is dry, grab your funnel and slowly pour the ingredients into the spice jar and you are finished! There is a shelf life of about a year just as a heads up!

Where do you get “green clay?” (Great post by the way…)

bentonite clay is green when it’s wet but it looks like a tan color when it’s dry. you can buy it in bulk at health food stores that sell bulk stuff or online.
