7 Tips for Long Healthy Hair

February 11, 2013 by Haley 12 Comments

 4. The beauty of The Comb

You don’t want to be ripping out your hair and causing more damage. When I shower I keep my conditioner in and comb gently through my hair, I keep my conditioner in focusing more on the ends to help moisturize. Image from Vanity Hair.

      Emmaleigh,

      I usually try to buy it on Amazon or other beauty supply outlets, with a discounted price. You can view their site here and you can buy it from here for $38. Good luck! I think you are going to love it.

    I usually have really long hair and I just got 4 inches plus layers taken off. I seem to be prone to split ends, even though I condition and avoid heat. I was curious to know what mask you are using?

      As a licensed cosmo my first question is: what shampoo and cond are you using? And second how often are you washing your hair?

        I am currently using Bed Head hi-def curls, both the shampoo and conditioner. I usually wash 2 to 3 times per week and I use a wide tooth comb only after my hair is dried,

          Try switching to pureology hydrate and start using Moroccan oil after you shower. You only need a dime size amount, put it thru your hair when its wet. It will never ever leave your hair greasy and it will cut back on your blowdrying time while strengthening and taming your hair. If you have curls, try using creams and hair lotions and pomades for your curls instead of mousse and gels, these are lighter but controlling and don’t have as much drying affect on the hair.
          Best wishes!

            Thank you. I had heard about the oil, but was not sure which to use. I will give these a try.

    Hi, I have been working for over two yrs to let my hair grow out . It is growing , but the split ends are just everywhere!! I trim, condition, and try to only wash it 3 times a week! Was wondering if you had any suggestions, and what kind of mask do you use ?! I’m wanting to grow it down to my bottom, but it just isn’t going to happen if I can’t get ends taken care of:-(.
    Also do you think layers are better or worse when your growing your hair out ?!
    Thanks 🙂

    I found a couple of masks that I am going to be starting here shortly. Pick your poison;

    2 tbsp dry mustard, 2 tbsp hot water, 1 egg yolk, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tsp sugar. apply once per week for one month.

    2 egg yolks, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 1 cup water. massage into hair/scalp 15-20 min, rinse with luke warm water.

    You shouldn’t trim your hair 6-8 if you do you there won’t be hardly any length added on. The only thing trimming does is get rid of split ends which can make your hair look healthier.

    I Have One More BIG TIP: don’t Put Your Hair UP WEt. I Had So Many Clients That Would DoThat. AS The Hair Dries It Expands And Anywhere It’s TieD Up Its Going To Cause Breakage.
