How to Make Your Own Dry Shampoo

March 30, 2013 by Haley 5 Comments

What You Will Need:

–          Spray Bottle (I prefer getting the smaller ones)

–          A Mixing Bowl

–          1 Tablespoon of Cornstarch

–          4 Tablespoons of Water

–          1 Tablespoon of Organic Ethanol (Rubbing Alcohol will do as well)

–          A Few Drops of Your Favorite Essential Oil ( to make your hair smell amazing)

Mix all of these together in your mixing bowl and carefully pour into your spray bottle.

Will arrowroot powder do in place of the cornstarch? Similar product, just not corn-based.

Brunettes can use cocoa powder mixed in with cornstarch to create a dry shampoo powder that won’t show as badly. I use about 1/2 cup cocoa powder and a few tablespoons cornstarch. Add more cornstarch for lighter brown 🙂
